YFBS Studio and Showroom
White Cross Street, London
2013
YFBS Studio was a small design studio located in the basement of a building on vibrant White Cross Street, close to Old Street and Shoreditch. The ground floor is used as a flexible multi-use space, which can easily be turned into a showroom or pop-up exhibition. The challenge in refurbishing the studio was to transform a confined space into something which could be used both as an office but also for the general public.
The products initially displayed in the space were a range of bathroom fittings by Dutch Designer Marike Andeweg, founder of NOW (Not only White, formerly Marike). The design emphasises the quirkiness of the space with clear lines and, because of the actual size of the showroom, is as minimal as possible.
